Mel and Jill - Serving in Southern Asia

Because of the sensitivity of their work, we will not their last name, nor the country in which they serve.

About their work:
Mel and Jill serve in Southern Asia. They work with victims of human trafficking through restorative care and preventative outreach. They serve through an NGO (Non-Government Organization) that has been established in the area they live for over 30 years. The human-trafficking emphasis of this NGO is about one year old, and there is a great amount to be done in this South Asian city. Also, they will be engaging in the sensitive work of church-planting.

How you can pray for them:
This is Mel and his family's first year on the field, please pray that their relationship with the government of the country they are serving would be good and that they would have no issues with their visas and work permits. Please pray also that the transition into the culture of the country they will be living and ministering in will go smoothly for them and their children. Their kids will be enrolled in school and Mel and Jillian will be in language school. Please pray that the Lord will help them in their studies. Pray they will have the wisdom they need as they launch into ministry. Lastly, please pray for the 4's: Souls, Safety, Strength and Support.

What you can do for them:
Prayer is the most important thing they need. However, financial assistance is needed to continue this work. The Lord has raised up on behalf of His work in Southern Asia a faithful group of monthly supporters and one-time donors. If you would like to contribute financially to this work, please contact them at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Their on-going needs:
Monthly supporters are a tremendous blessing to this ministry. They depend on these precious partners to keep them on the field. As they grow in their ministry in Southern Asia, they will become more aware of others needs, such as funds needed for specific projects.

About Mel & Jillian:
Mel and Jillian's heart have been stirred for overseas work for quite some time. Jillian felt the Lord leading her to this kind of work when she was just 9 years old, and, at a retreat for elementary aged girls, she felt the Lord speaking to her about being an overseas worker one day. Mel's call to overseas work came as a freshman in college, when the Lord began to deal with him about the truth of John 14:6, how Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one can come to the Father except through Him. Mel then began to think about people on the other side of the world who had never heard the Gospel even once. Mel then transferred to a Bible School in Texas where he met Jillian.

In 2003, they were married and now have two beautiful children. Since getting married, their ministry experience has included church-planting in urban and suburban contexts and children's ministry.
